In severely infected areas, negative pressure isolated patient rooms (NPIP) are essential to ensure safety of medical staff as well as avoid cross-infection. BROAD Sustainable Building has signed a contract with Seoul National University Hospital to provide its turnkey project that prefabricated hospitals can be built in 2 days to offer treatment for more patients.
Design of the hospital applies with Chinese high standard. Besides, technology has been updated based on design experience of combating SARS and prefabrication, which resembles Wuhan huoshenshan hospital. Futhermore, this design is restackable which means strories of the hospital can be added later according to their requirements. Design of foundation have been taken into consideration at the beginning. Owing to this, the hospital could be more multifunctional in the future.
Whole modules are totally made of a new material called BCore slab. Components of BCore slabs are prefabricated in the factory and installed on site, which greatly reduces assembly time unlike concrete constructions, thus freeing construction site from dust, noise and waste. The structures made out with BCore slabs have the advantage of energy conservation, high aseismatic performance, long service life and recyclability. The building made of stainless steel gives a clean and modern impression while not cold because of rock wool insulation.
BROAD NPIP hospital is equipped with BROAD clean air system whose fresh air supply system and exhaust system are separate. These systems create different air pressure between the ward and outside. Indoor air pressure is lower than outdoor air pressure, which enables outside fresh air enter into the ward. Meanwhile, polluted air is sterilized by high concentration of ozone before vented outside.
It is also worth to mention that digital technology has been widely used in the process. Technology exchanges concerning fast-building, digital construction management, cross-infection elimination solutions were discussed on B-talk platform. Besides, technologies included BIM, 5G and online monitoring are applied throughout the whole process.
Now, the first delivery has been sent to Shanghai. It is supposed to arrive South Korea on 27th by Evercity's container freight ships which is capable of transporting BCore buildings and new infrastructures like wind power plants to any corner of the world. With the self-replicating network of emergency supply and demand, BROAD is using material technology and Evercloud platform to establish a safe and resilient Evercity.
