2018.06.23 YiXi【一席】中科院病毒所·石正丽：追踪SARS源頭
石正麗，中國科學院武漢病毒研究所研究員。石正麗和她的團隊花了十三年時間，最終確定了SARS病毒起源於蝙蝠。2003年春天，SARS（非典型肺炎）肆虐全球，8000餘人感染，超過900人死亡。當時，研究人員從果子狸體內檢測到了SARS冠狀病毒，然而進一步實驗發現，果子狸雖然是直接傳染源，但並不是「始作俑者」。哪種動物嫌疑最大呢？科學家將目光聚焦到了蝙蝠。對研究病毒的學者來說，蝙蝠地位特殊。在漫長的進化歷程中，它成了上百種病毒的自然宿主，包括狂犬病毒、馬爾堡病毒、尼帕病毒等諸多烈性病毒。但蝙蝠自己卻不會生病。2004年開始，石正麗和團隊踏上了追踪SARS冠狀病毒源頭的征程。2013年，他們在雲南的一處蝙蝠洞里分離到和SARS病毒高度同源的病毒，後來在那裡開展多年的研究，最終證實了SARS病毒起源於蝙蝠。
「這些野生動物的病毒怎麼就到了人類社會？過去沒有那麼多傳染病，現在怎麼就這麼多呢？」
「有親戚會問，說SARS都沒有了你還做這個東西，有什麼意義？有可能這種疾病永遠都不來。但是我覺得我們做的很多工作，如果有一次能夠預防疾病爆發，就有它的意義了。」
「不管南方還是北方，中部還是西部，只要聽說有蝙蝠的地方我們都會去，足跡遍布了我國28個省市，像大海撈針一樣。這樣一做就是十多年的時間。」
