According to the Global Times: Statistics released by the British shipbuilding and maritime industry analysis agency show that the global order volume for new ships in 2021 will be 45.73 million revised gross tons, of which Chinese shipbuilders will undertake 22.8 million tons, ranking first in the world, while South Korea Shipbuilding enterprises took the second place with 17.35 million tons.
It also means that the Korean shipbuilding company's record of maintaining the world's number one for three consecutive years was ended by China.
