At theN Times Square in New York City, a three-minute video featuring China's stance on the South China Sea issue is being played on a giant screen, five times an hour, 24 hours a day, from July 23 to August 3.
The 19-meter high by 12-meter wide screen, owned by a subsidiary of Xinhua News Agency, is a window to Chinese culture and history for the world ever since it lighted up in 2011.
The short footage features the beautiful scenery of the South China Sea Islands and the history of China being the first nation that discovered, named and exploited the islands and surrounding waters. It also verifies China's irrefutable sovereignty and relevant interests on the islands by elaborating ample historical and legal evidences.
