Pakistan’s Metro Opens 一帶一路倡議

Pakistan’s first modern metro opens in Lahore

Pakistan’s first modern metro opened on October 25, 2020 in Lahore. The infrastructure project was jointly funded by and will be operated in collaboration with Chinese companies.

The Orange Line of the Lahore metro system stretches for 27km (17 miles), includes 26 stations and is expected to carry 250,000 passengers daily. The capital of Punjab province in eastern Pakistan has long struggled with pollution from road traffic and lengthy commute times.

The project is part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (一帶一路倡議), Beijing’s global trade strategy which is driven by Chinese-backed infrastructure. Three more lines are being planned for Lahore’s metro system. SCMP

  1. A friend in need is a friend indeed. Anyone in this world is neither born as our *friend* Nor as *enemy*.....
It's Our Art, Act, Attitude and Approach that makes them become either one. Make friends, never enemies. China is a world Builder, not a world Bully.
